Heating and Energy Management

Heating is usually the largest operating cost in an indoor pool and one of the first places a modernization pays back. Heater selection, heater control from the chemistry controller, pool covers, and variable-speed pumping all reduce energy use without compromising comfort or code requirements.

FreyTech evaluates heating alongside circulation and controls so the equipment room is modernized as a system, and coordinates with mechanical engineers on boiler and heater replacements.

Common facility applications

  • Indoor natatoriums
  • Therapy pools
  • Hotel and club pools
  • Seasonal outdoor pools extending the season

Selection considerations

What to decide before choosing equipment

Load and fuel

Heater sizing follows pool volume, temperature, air conditions, and available fuel.

Controls

BECSys5 offers heater on/off control with fireman cycle; confirm interface with the specific heater.

Energy measures

Covers and variable-speed pumping often pay back faster than heater replacement alone.

Pumps, Circulation and Flow Control

Circulation is the heartbeat of the equipment room: the recirculation pump moves water through filtration, treatment, and heating at the turnover rate the code requires.

Automated Controls

An automated controller is the decision-maker in the equipment room.

Deck Equipment

Deck equipment is what swimmers, coaches, and lifeguards touch every day: starting platforms, lane lines and reels, bulkheads that reconfigure a competition pool, guard chairs, ladders and rails, water polo goals, diving stands, lighting, and covers.
